When we use drawing tools we will get a rectangle shaped area where it is written 'Create Your Drawing Here', it is called Drawing Canvas. It is there in Microsoft Word 2003 and 2007 and 2010 versions.
Steps to Turn The Drawing Canvas On or Off in Word 2003:
1) On the Tools menu, click Options.
2) Click the General tab, select or clear the Automatically create drawing canvas when inserting AutoShapes check box.

Word 2010 does not permit removing the drawing canvas - I have tried the Options>Advanced.... tip but it remains even for new documents.
i cant find or turn on off the drawing canvas?
